Privacy Policy

This Policy describes how First Precedent collects, uses, and protects personal data submitted through fp.iura.in and in the course of research engagements.
1. Who We Are
First Precedent is a unit of Bahali Investment Group LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India. For the purposes of this Policy, "First Precedent", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Bahali Investment Group LLP operating as First Precedent.

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Brief submission data: When you submit a research brief through the Submit a Brief form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), Bar Council enrolment number (if provided), role, organisation, and the contents of your brief.
2.2 Supporting documents: Any documents you upload with a brief submission are stored in encrypted form and associated with your brief reference number.
2.3 Contact data: If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence.
2.4 Usage data: We do not currently operate analytics that track individual users. Server logs may record IP addresses and access times for security purposes.
3. How We Use Data
3.1 Brief submissions: To review, scope, and fulfil research engagements.
3.2 Contact data: To respond to correspondence.
3.3 We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Document Retention
Supporting documents uploaded with brief submissions are not retained beyond the completion of the relevant engagement. Brief metadata (reference number, contact details, scope description) may be retained for up to two years for conflict-check and billing purposes.
5. Security
Documents are stored in encrypted form using Firebase Cloud Storage. Access is restricted to the research lead and assigned researchers on the relevant engagement. All personnel are bound by the Confidentiality Charter.
6. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian law, you have the right to access personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, and to request deletion. Requests should be sent to privacy@fp.iura.in with sufficient information to identify the data in question.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
